Freediving Lap Certifications
Lap Freediving as part of the Molchanov system
It's a specific type of freediving training focused on improving static and dynamic apnea skills, typically done in a pool setting.
In the context of the Molchanovs Freediving methodology, Lap Freediving is designed to enhance breath-holding, relaxation, and technique in a controlled environment before progressing to open water diving.
Here’s a breakdown of the key components of Lap Freediving in the Molchanovs system:
-
Static Apnea (STA): This involves holding one's breath while remaining still in the water, typically at the surface. The goal is to increase the duration of breath-holds while maintaining calmness and relaxation.
-
Dynamic Apnea (DYN) ot (DYNB): Involves swimming horizontally underwater while holding your breath. It focuses on improving swimming technique, breath control, and efficiency over longer distances.

Safety and Technique:
-
A key part of Molchanovs’ Lap training is learning proper safety protocols, buoyancy control, and effective diving techniques, including how to manage anxiety and improve relaxation.

Gradual Progression:
-
The Lap courses are typically structured in levels, with each stage building on the last, allowing divers to improve their breath-hold capacity, underwater navigation, and mental focus progressively.
-
Lap Freediving is an essential part of the Molchanovs system, as it helps divers develop strong foundational skills in a safe, controlled setting before moving to more advanced open water freediving (such as the Wave or Depth courses).
Discover Lap
1 Day - 2,900ph
for swimmer & non swimmer
Students enrolled in the Freediving Discover Lap course learn fundamental skills essential for pool freediving.
Since 2013 we acquire a solid expertise of teaching the art of no breathing in freediving, we offer you the best guidance. You'll feel supported and guided at every step of your underwater adventure.
Creating a Relaxed and Enjoyable Introduction: We believe in a positive and stress-free learning environment, allowing you to focus on refining your skills without unnecessary pressure.
Physical Fitness and Mental Resilience: Freediving is not just a sport but a comprehensive experience that enhances both physical and mental well-being. You will be amazed by your infinite possibilities.
Key topics covered during the two-day course include:
-
Introduction to Freediving Breathing Techniques
-
Finning Techniques for Efficient Movement
-
Dive Visualization Methods for Mental Preparation
-
Safety Protocols and Procedures.
Upon completing Lap 1, students have the option to advance to Wave 1 by undertaking the depth component. This upgrade provides participants with a more comprehensive understanding of freediving techniques and safety measures, preparing them for further exploration and advancement in the sport.

LAP 2
2 Days 11,000ph
Lap 2 Freediving is an intermediate level course that focuses on expanding freedivers' skills and knowledge beyond the basics.
Advanced Techniques:
-
Participants delve deeper into freediving techniques, including Frenzel P, T & K
-
Refining in no-fin techniques and mastering the monofin.

Theory and Physics:
The course covers advanced topics such as the physics of freediving, including Dalton's law and Henry's law, and how they relate to safe freediving practices.
Pool Component: Lap 2 typically includes the pool part of the Wave 2 course, providing comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical training in a controlled environment.

LAP 3
3 Days 17,000ph
Lap 3 Freediving represents a Master stage in freediving education, offering participants an opportunity to further refine their skills and knowledge.

Advanced Physiological Understanding:
You will expand your mental toolbox by learning how to use attention deconcentration, which is a completely different mental approach to your dives. Understand the mouthfill equalization with the dry training. Packing, reverse packing, flexibility training and the according knowledge when and how to apply these techniques (and when not to!) will enable you to expand your limits while staying always safe. Increase you level in pool DYNB, DNF, STAT and develop high level of monofins technique.
The Lap is a semi-professional certificate that enables you to act as an assistant instructor and equips you with the according level of knowledge and skills. It is also the last step towards joining a Molchanovs Instructor Course if your goal is to make a career out of freediving, Lap 3 Freediving is designed for individuals seeking to become proficient in diving, understand advanced physiological concepts, and potentially pursue roles as assistant freediving instructors.
